You agree with me or not, but the foundation that 90s dotcom laid, built the present day Internet, which became the modus-operandi in/of every possible work!
But again, dotcom wasn’t exponential rise of an intelligent technology, rather, it was the ubiquitous expansion of similar platforms, that spread like weeds on the Internet, resulting in bust of several Internet companies. For example, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok are the only Social Media platforms that were able to crack the code in today’s market; maybe due to great Investments & Backing; whereas, other similar platforms either closed down, or, didn’t work like them. KOO, Signal etc. are some examples. Again, which is similar to the Nuclear Race Program, wherein, the technology didn’t exponentially grow, rather, the race to build similar Nuclear Weapons was, that ubiquitously spread across the World. Did the Nuclear tech grow exponentially? Nope! And that too by itself? Of course can never! And if I’m not wrong, you still require decades back technology to protect it.
Now comes the age of AI, the foundation of which was laid decades back, but, it takes time to bear fruits. This technology is Exponential, and not similar to Web Portals in the age of dotcom bubble, nor like Nuclear Arms Race; and further it evolves dynamically, rather, statically.AI is different! It isn’t Dotcom. It is Exponential! It isn’t Nuclear! It is Intelligent. It won’t be mere Code! It would be Nueral! It isn’t Manual! It’s Autonomous!
Of course the companies who’ve opened AI Companies, for the sake of opening Startups, would close down. And so as all those companies, who’ve become mere contents creators; which again, slowly be taken to Courts, eventually, for Copyright Infringements.
This of course leads to a bubble, like in the case of late 90s and early 00. But the companies who are building AIs, as what it means by its name, aka, taking intelligence into consideration; those will remain in the field, dominate, until AGI is conceived.
Take the example. Microsoft, Oracle, Sun Microsystem, Apple; in the 80s & 90s built products, and were Not mere restricted to selfsame online portals; which led to their dominance in the market even today.
Thus, again, dotcom bubble will come for those who build anything for the sake of building. Whereas, the rest, remaining ones, wouldn’t come to know, eventually, as who is controlling whom?
