There’s a common saying in politics that: same political weapon never works twice in politics. Apart from this, I further contend that, the weapons used or proposed to be used, shouldn’t be in conflict with one another. And this happened both in Lok Sabha, as well as in the recent Haryana, Maharashtra, Jharkhand elections!
Take these examples:
There were four new political weapons used by the Opposition in the Lok Sabha elections:- 1. First was the slogan -> ‘constitution is in danger’;
- 2. Second was -> ‘Breaking Threshold of Reservation from 50% Ceiling’;
- 3. Third was -> ‘Extending Reservation to Muslims As Well’;
- 4. Caste Census.
On the other hand, the two main weapons used by the Ruling party were:
- 1. Infiltrators remark;
- 2. Opposition would take away Reservation, or If extension ever granted!
Now, the Weapons used by the Opposition in the Lok Sabha elections paid, that’s why NDA got at least 50-90 less seats. Whilst, the weapons used by the Ruling party also worked, that’s why they won the elections for the Third term, which too is also a huge achievement!
ANALYSIS OF ISSUES IN POLITICAL WEAPONS:
- 1. The Second and Third weapons of the Opposition, are in, conflict with one another! This has confused even those who come presently under the 50% Reservation ceiling.
- 2. The First & Fourth Weapons were already used in the Lok Sabha Elections; But, again being used in Haryana and Maharashtra elections, hence, the Theory that the same Political weapon never works twice, supersedes.
- 3. Not understanding that both Gujarat & Maharashtra, are implicitly Capitalist by Nature, and Not Communist or Socialist! Here, the Politicians are known by their Connections to Sugar, Land, Crops, Pharma, Cinema Industry; and Not by Poetries or Activism! So just alike Ms. Harris committed a blunder in the debate by taking the name of Goldman Sachs; the Opposition committed contrary to that, by targeting them, despite of the Fact that in these States, even the Opposition too, implicitly are Capitalists! Am I wrong? Nope!
- 4. The same case as mentioned in Point 3 is with Haryana, which has influence of Delhi culture. Where people show their cars, houses, weapons, VISA more; then how could the elections be fought considering them as Socialists or Communists?
- 5. On the other hand, the Ruling party repeated First Weapon (viz. statements like Infiltrators), hence lost in Jharkhand.
One would ask, the Ruling party also keeps invoking Hindutva weapon, which is technically a recurring political weapon; yet, that works! How? Then that case is also applicable for Dravidian politics in Tamil Nadu as well, which also works! Please understand, these are not political weapons, but the fundamental issues that resonated for millennia, when even Politicians or Entertainers didn’t even exist. And thus, these sectarian fundamental issues would keep working.
Further, kaleidoscopic diversity of India evolved post-independence amidst an unfulfilled dream of full-scale proselytism involving many stake holders. That’s why not only India missed the Industrial revolutions, but also no ideology ever property worked in India:
- Communism was not able to erect SHANGHAI in West Bengal & Kerala.
- Socialism was not able to give NORDIC Welfare both in U.P & Bihar.
- Atheism wasn’t able to erect SEATTLE in Tamil Nadu.
- Capitalism wasn’t able to build NEW YORK both in Gujarat & Maharashtra.
- Monarchy failed to erect MONACO & MONTE CARLO in Rajasthan.
- Appeasement Politics in Telangana couldn’t erect DUBAI.
- One language culture of Hindi belt couldn’t erect SYDNEY.
- Even Terrorism didn’t work as it failed to erect a single CANADA in INDIA.
CONCLUSION:
- 1. The same political weapon cannot work twice in politics, except those weapons that resonated since millennia.
- 2. Not necessary that an ideology that worked somewhere else, would work in your land. Meaning, what worked for thee, not necessarily would work for me.
- 3 Demarcate first which states evolved with what ideology. Where Capitalism worked, no matter how much you try to infuse socialism therein, it won’t work; accepting that even the Opposition sail(ed) in the same Boat.
- 4. Poverty porn has now been overused!
- 5. Lastly, knowing, what’s coming next, nothing would work!
I hope this blog elucidates, why the political elections are lost or won!
Thanks! 😊
