Long back I coined this definition of Jobs & Experience -> ‘Performance Based Work Oriented Management.’
Every profession requires a particular kind of what you may call an implicit taste or trait. Sadly, we’ve buried that under the verbose imaginary Resumes, or, DEI. Take this example. Compare MTV’s late 90s to early 00s VJs, with, the later era of Music channels; you would yourself notice a difference. Similarly, in a fashion industry, a particular taste is required, but today, anyone with a degree in fashion tech & design can enter; alas, that hasn’t helped the fashion industry either. Have you lately seen the Calvin Klein Ad? Take another example. Coders with MBA can become policy makers. Is Silicon Valley an inspiration? Or mere a qualification of Public Policy will end you up drafting global policies. Result -> three decades and indispensable globalization collapsed. Look at the United Nations in the last four decades.
Yes, you need skills, whether in a banking or tech or medical sector; but that skill shouldn’t implicitly be expanded into larger roles by years of experiences or degrees taken. As your 30- 40 years of experience is basically 5 years of experience & the next 35 years of copy pasting repetition of the same thing.
If we’ll have more jobs based on contracts rather residential; and not that I support exploitation-based contracts, nor I want every any employee to be milked until it cease to discharge; but contractual based would give more broader exposure to any employee; and this would give more rise to the inventions, rather innovation, that’s the need of hour. Because, what we’re seeing is the revolution in innovation wherein already existing inventions are being combined together in different permutation & combinations to make products already present in infinite + its support. A rocket is becoming more heavier & bigger than lighter or smaller; a mobile is becoming more complex with apps with the same design; a car has the same built in feature & design with four wheels swaying from electric to petrol/diesel; the public policy is either restricted to job creation than quality of jobs, or, swaying between wars to words to mostly political pleasing; the writing is restricted to I’m from Ivy League or rags to rich or oppressed, so make me the bestseller; AI is now your mere call center representative or deep fake.
Think about it!
