When AAP Went Political……

AAP was a social movement, which somehow turned into a political movement, which then transmuted into a political party, which then further transformed into party of probable sympathizers of dynasties, & seems got drenched into all those things against which the movement of AAP started more than a decade back. Correct?

As, somewhere b/w 2011-13, AAP was still being conceived on the 3 basic principles. At least what the mainstream reported back then, or maybe, what I (mis)interpreted:

  • 1.     Against ‘Absolute’ Privatization;
  • 2.     Against Dynasties & Corruption;
  • 3.     Giving Share to Who Deserve(d)!

With respect to the Education Sector, I partially supported them back then; as indeed, Academia needed a big Correction, as it has decimated the context & concept of what should, or what ought to have been considered as -> Educated or Learned!

Further, this is also true that, if the likes of Shri Anna Hazare had not joined their movement in its initial years, AAP wouldn’t have gained that sort of fame or reputation, what they even enjoy today, on which it built mammoth legacy of a political party.

Alas, what we’re seeing today is, as if, let’s say as an analogy, Ms. AOC dining with Hedge Fund Managers, or, Mr. Trump adopting & pampering young Climate Activists, or, Leonardo DiCaprio dating a 28 year old (too old for him).

I can relate the transmutation of AAP into a political party, as some mainstream publishing columns doing comparative analysis b/w the movie NAYAK vs AAP party leaders back then. But again, foundation of such importance, shouldn’t have been built merely on a qualitative analysis of a movie masala script published by the mainstream! Correct! Just an analogy!

Thus, when AAP went Political, may be nothing remained Ethical! A Dilemma!
