“Some things are hard, and some things are right, and some things are both,” this is what Apple CEO said whilst refusing to create backdoor entry for iPhone in 2016 in San Bernardino case.
But, take this recent example of Twitter: 4/20 was the deadline, to henceforth avail blue check verification via Subscription only. Twitter executed what it promised, alas, only reversing from its decision,
restoring the blue check verifications even without subscription (as what the mainstream reported), got carried away by the whims of so called legacy account holders; despite knowing they being using the Twitter for their promotional/marketing purposes also, ideological shrieks + existence of earlier compromised Twitter empire, arbitrarily assigning of verifications etc.In another example, Musk was a staunch supporter of AI, until feud with OpenAI / Microsoft happened, & thus started signing petitions asking for ceasing / pausing the evolution of AI.
Now imagine a hypothetical scenario, wherein in the Starship spacecraft, any legacy seat holder, unveil his/her whims in front of Musk, longing to be travelling with selected people only, & Musk getting carried away by such whims, ends up throwing away other travelers out of that spacecraft, enroute to Mars! This is just a hypothesis among thousand others.
Removing legacy blue checks & implementing the Subscription module, could’ve been the step taken to cleanse the Internet, furthermore, as in any case, there was no revenue being generated by assigning so called legacy blue check verifications without subscription; alas, that object too was defeated.
But again, its their money, group companies; along with their long term companions of miser millionaires + legacy account holders who don’t want to pay $8 p/m, but, would use Twitter for self-promotions & ideological shrieks!
