Proselytism would always end up being one of the biggest enemies of humanity. Time travel millennium back or discern present, it’s the source of chaos. Whether executed with swords & horses in the past, or by modern liberals’ absurdity in present. So, what being rational / reasonable means today? This isn’t a counter contention but an extended viewpoint in this disorderly philosophical world which is similar to our hotchpotch legal systems.
Animals are rational (deriving means for their own well being). They know what to eat, where when to mate, organize, living survival reproduction repeat life, just alike Humans. Thus, Humans are extended versions of social animals, of course with higher intelligence. Animals’ intelligence is restricted, whereas of humans, expansive, incorporating the surroundings in their belief system. A Lion considers itself as a king of the jungle Whereas A Human, master of universe(s).
Rationality negates intuitions, instincts, emotions. If rationality or reasoning is - executing any action with the help of learned actions, empirically based theories, methods or with mathematical precisions that can be transcribed into papers; then intuitions instincts on the other hand are poles apart. Is it mere outcome of experiences, senses that are unexplainable, or mere irrationality, what even rationality cannot prove disprove. What’s true love (of course, reciprocal love)? Love based on rationality is mere arrangement or contract, and a contract always incorporates consideration in its definition. That’s following reasoning to calculate securities for survival reproduction repeat cycle; basically similar to Animals.
You given a choice to save any one between: a kid - a young woman/man you love - a single copy of locker code that has millions of dollars inside; what or who would you choose to save (considering you’re broke on all aspects)? As, herein any action, would become contentious with reasonable justifications.

rationality is adulterated,
instincts intuitions weak;
emotions broken,
morality is in deep sleep.
philosophical world only discuss; alas,
discussions complex labyrinth sweeps.
What if humanity itself is the biggest anomaly in cosmos simulation? And if not, then maybe the answers are here, beyond or long gone! 😇
