It's Never Your Race

An engineering marvel was called,
Eyes of many dreamt in it to float;
With songs & dances & love in bed,
Elated were as golden tickets allured.

Who boarded once the tallest ship,
Saw destiny, cruise wouldn’t fail;
And slept with no goodbye kiss,
As would reach in few days of sail!

What cannot sink all knew for sure,
The Giant Ship could not be bent;
From shores who watched envied,
As they weren’t part of who were sent.

Who knows how many held in arms?
And looked at moon in sulking night;
Who knows how many wrote lists?
Steps to take when destiny arrive.

What dreamt or listed, were lighted,
An iceberg that plunged unsinkable;
Some in arms embraced faith,
Rest fought or lost or escaped or crumbled.
You ain’t choose but take what’s chosen,
This is destiny’s cycle, never your race.
