Academicians

Season 3:
Education: Role of Academicians :)

And so the question ensues: Expectations of change from whom?

Usually people say, so what, in every nation conditions or problems kindred to this subject either subsist or the system is muddled up. But tell me one thing, is it necessary for any economy to copycat occasionally or always! Why can't one introduce a new concept which is More Effective & Less Bureaucratic?

If someone comes out & officially declare that Education Sector is an 'Industry' to make Juicy Profits, verily, I won't refute. Never Ever. And would undoubtedly accept it. But when one starts categorizing, segregating on the basis of that, then I have a problem, Indeed!

I understand, there exists numerous vested interests & concerns of stake holders, that includes Print/Electronic Media (revenue related) in this sector. Means coaching centres for one exam targeting even children who are hardly in 6th grade. Is this justified? Or let's say Academicians aspiration wanting to join Institutes post retirement either as Directors or Deans or as part of the Academic or Governing Council discussing the Institutes Balance Sheets. Fair Enough! But like a slave, serving those, who holds a bottle & stick in their one hand & gun in another! Can such Academicians bring change? Or those whose backbones have become so stiff, don't know why (Robots are far better), that instead of understanding student grievances, they are more interested in playing Bureaucracy, can they bring change or could they even be considered as good teachers? Or their aspiration of becoming OSDs to guard existing policies without any longing for transforming it? 

Now, it's not a blanket assumption, but sadly, the environment is more populated with such figures. But it is also not a myth that: "It's immensely arduous to find a good Teacher".

Obviously, one can't expect a guy who is trained in C++ to design circuits. He has to be first trained in Embedded/VLSI tech. for 6M - Year. Thence, I am not amalgamating Schooling or Training with Education & then categorizing & stamping the identity as the dependable ones.

It's a general understanding in the Education Industry that one can lose any Academician in the midterm as one can find many Asst./Asso. Profs. in the market, anytime. But they can't take any chance losing any student NOT because the so called Academicians want any student to complete the whole term, but more on the ground that they CANNOT afford to lose the subsequent semesters FEES from that student. And even if they lose so, it's not the Institute but the Student who is more affected. Ok! Did this pattern help in changing the conditions of many parts on Terra who are/were facing economic/ideological/civil crises or execution of any sustainable diplomatic resolutions?      

I have the highest regards for teachers, good administrators & academicians. As I know only they have power to change the world. But they also need to change their outlook & stagnant ideology while defining Credibility. Remember Kahn & his orgies or Pachauri?

Thence, is this a whole network or nexus, good or bad, you decide. I know, I am standing alone. But as long as this mindset would proliferate & I know which would from corporate to communities, occasionally, good words from my end would always be pondered upon it.

And BTW, there should be Evolution by Passion; Not by Compulsion :)
